Rotary Club of Chennai Capital Empowers Sringeri Sharada Equitas Hospital with  70 Lakhs worth Life-Saving Technology Under ‘Mythri Jeevan’ Initiative

Marking a major milestone in regional healthcare, the Rotary Club of Chennai Capital successfully concluded its Mythri Jeevan initiative, donating an 70 Lakhs worth advanced ICG Open Camera, a Valleylab surgical diathermy system, and a High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) system to the Sringeri Sharada Equitas Hospital.

This impactful humanitarian project was made possible through a Global Grant from The Rotary Foundation, which empowers clubs worldwide to execute large-scale, sustainable healthcare advancements. Reflecting its name, Mythri Jeevan translates to “Friendship for Life,”symbolizing a powerful international alliance to protect human health. The initiative was supported globally by Rotary Districts 3233 and 3300, alongside international partner club, the Rotary Club of Nilai Central (Dist 3300). The project reached fruition through the generous contributions of major donors Rtn Vinay Grandhi & Family and Smt Asha Mehta & Family.

A Critical Weapon in the Fight Against Cancer

The deployment of the specialized ICG (Indocyanine Green) Open Camera, combined with the precision of the Valleylab surgical diathermy unit, brings cutting-edge operational and fluorescence imaging technology to the hospital’s oncology department. By providing real-time, high-precision visual guidance alongside advanced electrosurgical cutting and coagulation capabilities during surgeries, these systems allow medical teams to locate tumors, map lymph nodes accurately, and minimize blood loss—safeguarding patients and significantly improving long-term cancer recovery outcomes.

The landmark ceremony was attended by distinguished Rotary leaders: Rtn D Devendran (District Governor 3233, 2025-26)

The event was well-attended by alongside major donor Rtn Vinay Grandhi and his wife Ann Sweta Grandhi, Rtn Prasanth Gireesh, Rtn Rajkumar Narang, the club secretary and First Lady Ann Roshni Modi.

Reflecting on the project’s success, Rtn Apoorva Modi, President (2025-26) of the Rotary Club of Chennai Capital, noted: “The ‘Mythri Jeevan’ project embodies the true essence of Rotary—crossing borders to bring life-saving technology to those who need it most. By equipping the hospital with these advanced diagnostic and surgical systems, we are giving medical professionals the tools to save lives and giving families hope. It stands as a shining example of what we can achieve when we unite for good.”

The project was successfully driven to completion by the host club’s core team, including President Rtn Apoorva Modi, Foundation Chairman
