1,000 children with intellectual and developmental disabilities come together with mainstream school children.
A Celebration of Inclusion, Equality and the Spirit of Every Child
Madras West Round Table 10 (MWRT10), one of the oldest and most distinguished chapters of Round Table India, hosted the 30th edition of the Unified Sports Carnival 2026 at the ICF Indoor Stadium, Ayanavaram, continuing a remarkable tradition that began in 1996.
For three decades, the Unified Sports Carnival has stood as a shining example of what true inclusion looks like. Every year, nearly 1,000 children with intellectual and developmental disabilities come together with mainstream school children to participate in sports, games and recreational activities—not as separate groups, but as one united family.
The philosophy behind the event is simple yet profound: when children play together, barriers disappear. The Carnival creates a day where labels are forgotten, friendships are formed, confidence is built and every child experiences the joy of belonging. It is this vision that gives the event its name—Unified Sports Carnival.
This landmark 30th edition graced by acclaimed actor Harshath Khan as the Chief Guest, alongside distinguished leaders from Round Table India and Ladies Circle India, reaffirming the long-standing support the movement has received from celebrities, public figures and community leaders.
Madras West Round Table 10 has spent nearly six decades serving society through meaningful and sustainable community initiatives. Beyond organizing flagship events like the Unified Sports Carnival, MWRT10 has made significant contributions to education and healthcare by constructing multiple schools across the region, supporting thousands of children through educational infrastructure, establishing a charitable dialysis hospital in Porur, and conducting numerous charitable initiatives throughout the year focused on healthcare, education and community welfare.
MWRT10 is a proud chapter of Round Table India, a nationwide voluntary organization driven by its enduring motto, “Freedom Through Education.” Since its inception, Round Table India has built thousands of classrooms across the country, transforming the lives of millions of children by providing access to quality educational infrastructure. Over the decades, the movement has enjoyed the encouragement and participation of eminent personalities, including film stars, business leaders, sports icons and statesmen, all united in supporting the cause of education and community service.
Speaking about the milestone event, the organizing team said: “The Unified Sports Carnival is much more than a sporting event. It is a celebration of acceptance, dignity and human connection. For thirty years, we have witnessed barriers dissolve when children come together on the same playground. Every smile, every cheer and every shared victory reminds us that inclusion is not charity-it is humanity.”
As MWRT10 celebrates the 30th edition of this iconic event, it renews its commitment to building a more compassionate and inclusive society where every child is empowered to participate, compete and dream without limitations.
