About the Event
During World Breastfeeding Week 2025 (1st–5th August), more than 40 Rotary Clubs and First Ladies across Chennai District 3234 united under the RAW 2 (Rotary Action for Women 2) initiative to distribute 1000 maternity kits worth ₹10 lakhs to government hospitals across Chennai.
The initiative, curated by First Lady Rtn Usha Saraogi and implemented by the Women’s Health team led by Rtn Dr. Susan Verghese and Rtn Suryanarayana Rao, Director CSH, was conducted across leading hospitals including RSRM, IOG, ICH, KGH-ISO, Shenoy Nagar PCHC, and Adyar PCHC.
This large-scale community effort not only benefited antenatal and postnatal mothers but also provided essential medical support and created awareness on maternal health during a globally recognized week dedicated to breastfeeding.
