Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos Embarks on “Mission 35” Under the Leadership of Its Youngest President, Rtn. Adarsh Betala

The Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos marked a historic milestone with its 35th Installation Ceremony, aptly themed “Mission 35 – Creating Impact. Changing Lives.” 

The ceremony witnessed the installation of Rtn. Adarsh Betala as President for the Rotary year 2026–27, making him the youngest President in the history of the Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos and believed to be among the youngest Rotary Club Presidents in Rotary District 3233. At just 27 years of age, Adarsh represents a new generation of Rotary leadership, driven by innovation, inclusivity and impactful service. He will be ably supported by Rtn. Bindhya, who assumes office as the Club Secretary, while First Lady Komal Betala will accompany the President in championing the club’s service initiatives and community outreach throughout the Rotary year.

The Installation Ceremony was graced by PDG Rtn. Mahaveer Bothra as the Chief Guest and Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali as the Guest of Honour, in the presence of distinguished Rotarians, dignitaries, corporate leaders and well-wishers.

A key highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the club’s visionary roadmap, Mission 35, comprising 35 impactful service initiatives that will be undertaken during the Rotary year across healthcare,education, women empowerment, youth development, environment, community welfare, Rotary Foundation, public image, club and international service.

The ceremony also witnessed the launch of the club’s five flagship “Hero Projects”, each designed to create sustainable social impact:

●Mission Rakta Bandhan – A technology-enabled blood donation initiative that connects voluntary blood donors with patients in need, ensuring timely access to lifesaving blood. The project was unveiled by Shri Praveen Tatia.

●Mission Pink Power – A comprehensive breast cancer awareness, screening and early detection initiative aimed at empowering women through preventive healthcare. The project was unveiled by Shri Mahesh Mehta.

●Mission Milestone – An artificial limb distribution programme in partnership with BMVSS Jaipur Foot, restoring mobility, dignity and independence to differently-abled beneficiaries. The project was unveiled by Shri Mahesh Mehta.

●Mission Sahara – A skill development and employment initiative focused on training nursing assistants and home healthcare professionals, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. The project was unveiled by Mr. Aditya Bhandari.

●Mission ShaktiSat – A pioneering STEM and space education initiative in collaboration with Space Kidz India, inspiring school students to explore science, innovation and satellite technology while nurturing the next generation of scientists and innovators. The project was unveiled by Dr. Srimathy Kesan, who’s the founder of the mission herself.

Addressing the gathering, President Rtn. Adarsh Betala reiterated the club’s commitment to transforming lives through meaningful service and collaborative action. Mission 35 is envisioned as a year-long movement that will bring together Rotarians, corporates, educational institutions, healthcare professionals and community partners to deliver sustainable and measurable impact.

With the inspiring motto “Creating Impact. Changing Lives.”, the Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos begins its 35th year with renewed energy, youthful leadership and an unwavering commitment to Service Above Self.
