Grand Madurai Lights Up the Holidays with Community Spirit, Cake Mixing, and Eco-Conscious Tree Lighting
Madurai – The countdown to Christmas officially began at Grand Madurai as the hotel hosted its annual Cake Mixing Ceremony and Tree Lighting Celebration. The event successfully married a cherished holiday tradition with heartfelt community outreach and a strong commitment to sustainability. The ceremony proudly welcomed 50 esteemed guests and 40 underprivileged children into the festive fold.

Festive Welcome
Guests were welcomed to the sounds of the Christmas carols and offered refreshments while mingling in the Lobby.
The Grand Mix
The Cake Mixing Ceremony commenced with guests gathering around the decorated table. Donning white caps and aprons, they collaboratively mixed 80 kgs of dry fruits soaked in abundance of Liquor.
A Magical Parade
The children were then ushered in a parade from their initial gathering area to the tree lighting location.
Eco-Conscious Tree Lighting and Carols
The event culminated with the performance of Carol Singers and the grand Christmas Tree Lighting. The ceremony featured a unique, eco-friendly element: instead of lighting a conventional Christmas tree, guests planted saplings on a custom-designed metal frame shaped like a tree. This innovative approach highlighted the hotel’s dedication to eco-conscious practices, ensuring each sapling continues to be nurtured and embody a sustainable festive spirit.
The resulting mixture will be baked into the hotel’s signature Christmas cakes and puddings, available throughout December.
