In a memorable moment, Rtn. Dr. Santosh Kumari Rathod was installed as the ninth president and the first female president of the Rotary Club of Chennai Central Elite (RCCE). This young and vibrant club, comprising professionals and businesspersons aged 25 to 40, focuses on networking, friendship, and community service under the Rotary motto of giving back to society.
The installation ceremony, held at the Accord Metropolitan, was marked by grandeur and innovation with a theme centered on Artificial Intelligence (AI). During the ceremony, Rtn. Rohit Raga was installed as the club secretary and Siddharth Jamad as the club treasurer along with the rest of the young and energetic board members.
Rtn. Dr. Santosh Kumari Rathod, in her inaugural address, unveiled several signature projects for the coming year. A highlight is the Paralympic event, Rotary Special Sport for Special Children from Special Schools, a sports activity where children from various special schools will engage in competitions and be awarded medals and accolades. Other notable initiatives include:
- Sanitary Pad and Hygiene Kit Distribution: Providing essential hygiene supplies to female students in government schools.
- Blood Donation Drives: Encouraging community participation in saving lives.
- Mammogram and Cervical Cancer Prevention Camps: Providing essential health services to women.
- Parental Awareness Programs: As a pediatric dentist specializing in preventive dentistry, sleep, and airway issues, Rtn. Dr. Santosh Kumari Rathod aims to raise awareness of the importance of sleep and the airway issues faced by the younger generation, which increase the risk of snoring and sleep apnea in adults.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Mahaveer Bothra, District Governor of Rotary District 3233, who commended the club’s dedication to community service and its innovative approach to social issues. Under the inspiring leadership of Rtn.
