The Rotary Club of Chennai Capital (RCCC) has successfully transformed the critical care landscape at Sri Ramachandra Hospital (SRIHER) through a high-impact diagnostic and respiratory equipment project.
The initiative was officially inaugurated today by Rtn. Holger Knaack, and Trustee Chairman of The Rotary Foundation and District Governor Rtn D Devendran, DIST3233. The project represents a significant achievement for RCCC, showcasing the club’s ability to mobilize international resources for local healthcare transformation.
Bridging the Gap in Critical Care Identifying a vital need for advanced neonatal support, the Rotary Club of Chennai Capital spearheaded Global Grant GG2463319. Under the leadership of President Rtn. Apoorva Modi, the club successfully coordinated a tripartite partnership involving Rotary Dist 5330 (USA) and the Rotary Club of Melawati (Malaysia).
The 45 lakhs worth donation of bedside Ultrasound and High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) units provides Sri Ramachandra Hospital’s Pediatric ICU with the capability to perform life-saving interventions without moving fragile infants, a critical factor in lowering neonatal mortality.
A Global Endorsement of Local Action During the ceremony, Chief Guest Rtn. Holger Knaack lauded the club’s efficiency and vision:
“What the Rotary Club of Chennai Capital has achieved here is a perfect blueprint for how a local club can leverage the power of the Global Grant system. Their dedication to pediatric health is a shining example of ‘Unite for Good’ in action.”
